Do You Really Need A Website?

Savvy business owners have jumped on the Internet bandwagon. Take a look at the amount of websites on the World Wide Web and you’ll see that the number is in the 100’s of millions. However, what does this mean for you? After all, you’ve been established and you sell solidly from your store-front; or on the other hand, you’re content to sell at the marketplace or other seller’s venues.

That’s perfectly fine. In fact, there’s absolutely nothing wrong if you’re content with your current sales volume. However, an increasing number of customers want to have the convenience of shopping from the Internet. Through a few clicks of the mouse and a few keyboard strokes, they can have the product shipped to their house and they didn’t have to speak to a salesperson!
Can you afford to miss out on this potential revenue stream?

Here are 3 reasons why you, as a business owner need a website:

1) Your Customer’s Expect You to Have a Website

Maybe you’ve had a few customers ask if you have a website. When you reply, “No” or “Not yet”, do you get a sinking feeling that you just lost buyer’s who would gladly buy from you multiple times without the trip to your store?

2) No Pressure Selling

Customer’s really, really hate pressure selling techniques. In fact, when sales people approach most customers, the typical, “I’m just looking or I’m just browsing” is the typical answer. So why not let your customer browse? Get a website and they can browse all they want without having a sales person breathing down their neck. The perception is that your customer feels relatively at ease because there’s no one trying to alter their decision. The reality is that every step of the way, you’re reminding the customer to buy from you and making it easy every step of the way to get what they want, all through your website.

3) Accounts for 3 Times the Amount of Sales vs. Phone Sales

There are numerous marketing studies done that all point towards the same conclusion: a website has 3 times the amount of sales than phone sales/walk-ins. So, 25% of sales result from phone/walk-ins and 75% result from on-line sales. These groups tend to be mutually exclusive as well (and phone sales/walk-ins tend to be more mature buyers age 50+) as opposed to Internet buyers, (age 16-49).

In conclusion, do you really need a website? Yes, you do.

Can Content Syndicators Work For The Benefit Of Your Business?

by: Fat Jack
A savvy internet marketer should always be aware of the new techniques and tricks of the business and RSS has emerged as the latest alternating messaging medium. With html fast becoming the thing of past, RSS is going to be the next big thing in the web; it is going to become the backbone of the internet by helping share the contents all over the web.

So what is content syndication all about?

This is a technology for sharing content among multiple websites. The characteristic features of this technology are:

* Syndication does not necessarily mean sharing of the full article, images or files.

* Syndication amounts to providing you information about the source website where the full article can be read.

* The information are found in forms of headlines with links to the web pages where the original content can be accessed.

* The syndication file is the basic element of content syndication. These files containing information about the site, the headlines and the links to web pages are located on the web server of the distributor of the content.

A professional webhost allows its customers to participate in content syndication for better business results. So what business benefits are you expected to get from content syndicators provided by your web host?

* Suppose you are engaged in the travel related business. What is the fastest and most effective way of circulating the news about your discounted summer travel package? Just create content with sensational headline and circulate it as RSS feed. Nothing can create speedier impact than this.

* RSS feeds help earn you more reliability from your customers for the simple reason that RSS feeds allow your subscribers to control the flow of information and your customers would trust you more when they are able to control the information they receive. Syndicating increase your online visibility by affecting your search engine rankings positively.

* In the corporate circle and in the intranet, syndication provides a better mode of communications and information about time sensitive issues to the remote employees and clients.

* Finally, its keyword search capabilities empower the marketers in tracking their immediate competitors.

Why not follow the footsteps of such powerful sites as MySpace or YouTube in sharing your contents online? Let RSS be the focal point in your internet marketing and wait for the best to come.

The B2Evolution Features Than Can Add Value to Your Blog Site

by: Fat Jack

If you are looking for a suitable tool to host a blog site then believe me, nothing can give you a better option than a B2Evolution software package. Going beyond traditional blogging tools, this software can offer you a range of other unusual features that add to the uniqueness to your blog site.

Multiple user/multiple author/ multilingual support

First of all, it supports a multi user, multiple authors set up.

By installing the software for once the software helps organize your blog in a way that each blog has its own set of member users. Thus, you can take the decision as to who gets to write on a particular blog.

On a more advanced level, certain readers can be denied access to particular posts.

To top it all, full user management is included in the software.

RSS feed enabled

Content syndication is one of the most prominent features of today’s blogging behavior. This is a process of article sharing among several related sites. But it is not essential that the full article should be circulated. Through the RSS feed, you can get to see the title and the source of the article. The source link can take you the original article.

The B2evolution has built-in RSS feed support. It also has Atom feeds for both posts and comments.

Thus the readers can get to see your RSS feeds and subscribe to your site.

With B2Evolution, it is possible to assign separate feeds for each individual blog on your site. Alternatively it is also possible to get a feed containing all the blogs on your site by subscribing to the ‘Blog All RSS feed’.

Digging

Another recent blog-culture involves ‘digging’ of the articles. With the help of a plugin called, AstonishMe Digg Plugin, it is possible to add Digg buttons to your posts by simply checking a box in the Write tab. This allows you and your readers to dig the stories.

Advanced categorization

Another feature helping in advanced blogging relates to complex categorization of contents. This system allows for categorizing and sub-categorizing of the posts/news items by subject or theme.

However, with this software it is also possible to assign multiple categories to each post.

The additional features include: an integrated XHTML validator, supports recursive subcategories, cross posting and has an integrated skinning system.

The end result is: you get blog software that runs easily on almost any web hosting service, generates web pages dynamically from the MySQL database, without any hassle of ‘rebuilding’. Also without running into any hassle, you can add to your site different ’templates’ or ’skins’ from time to time. It also comes with faster search/display capabilities and makes for the most comprehensive blog engine you could ever find.

Keyword Research – The Foundation For A Profitable Website

Keyword research is the process of determining which keyword phrases
will describe your website’s products and/or services and are
actually used in web searches. It is insight into the needs of your
customers or clients. Bottom line it is finding out what Internet
surfers are actually searching for.

Choosing keywords or keyword phrases can be very confusing for new
site owners. If you don’t have keyword or keyword phrases
optimized on your web site, you will not get the traffic you want and
individuals will not stay on your site, read your information or buy
you service or product.

Keyword research can be broken down into a three step process. The
first step is the discovery phase. In this step you want to focus on
identifying as many keywords or phrases as possible.

Initially you need to sit down and brainstorm a list of
keyword/keyword phrases that address the topic of your web site. Have a
dictionary and thesaurus handy. At this point include every word or
phrase that you can think of.

There are several keyword tools that are available to help you generate a keyword list. Some of these tools are free (www.goodkeywords.com and Google Adwords Tool) while others (www.wordtracker.com) are fee based. With these tools you will be able to generate hundreds of keyword phrases.

The second step in the analyzing phase. This step involves analyzing
the popularity and competition for the keyword phrases. The quickest
way to perform the analysis is to use one of the fee based keyword
tools like Wordtracker.

Wordtracker is able to quickly take your list of keyword phases and
give you the number of searches in the past 30 days and the number of
competitive web sites for each phrase. Wordtracker also supplies a
numerical value called a Keyword Effectiveness Index (KEI) that helps
determine the competitiveness of a keyword phrase. A keyword phrase
with a high KEI means it is less competitive.

From Wordtracker you are able to export your keyword list along with
the KEI, search and competitive site data. This information can then be
entered into Excel spreadsheets. This will allow you to make
comparisons between various keyword phrases and do away with any
unrelated or undesireable keyword phrases.

The third step is the selection of keyword phrases. From your
analysis phase, you should be able to identify a number of high quality
keyword phases that can accurately describe the qualities of your
website.

In your final selection of keyword phases you need to look for
phrase that have a high level of search activity, while the level of
competitiveness is relatively low. For making your final selection of
15-20 keyword phrases you will want to do a Google search on the
keyword phrases and view the top web sites listed for each phrase. Are
the sites professionally designed? Can you design a web page that can
move up into the top ratings for this keyword phrase?

When starting a new web site it’s highly recommended to target
only one unique keyword phrase per page. With your newly researched
keyword list you can write your content with a balanced use of unique
phrases that will help generate traffic to your web pages.

It Is Time To Begin Thinking Outside The Desktop

Information is king. It is what drives the Internet. People have
discovered that they can turn to the Internet for answers to questions
and solutions to problems.

Websites are the most common source of these answers. But sometimes
the answers or solutions cannot be found on a website. In those cases
they may have to purchase and download an e-Book. These are often in a
pdf or exe file format that requires the reader to sit in front of
their desktop or laptop computer to read it. If the reader has been
working at a computer all day, they find little pleasure in facing a
computer screen to read an e-Book.

An increasing number of people carry a PDA (Pocket Digital
Assistant) around in their pocket or purse. These handheld size
computers were intended to serve as organizers for their schedules and
contacts. Another purpose for these Pocket PCs or Palms has been
discovered. That is as e-Book readers.

Commuters to work on light rail or BART trains are seen intensely
reading something from the screens of their pocket size computers. In
most cases, they are reading e-Books. They may be carrying dozens of
full size books in their shirt pocket. There has been an explosion of
books digitalized for reading on these devices. Most are either old
classics no longer under copyright or best sellers that may cost 80% of
their printed versions.

There is a void of e-Books in the area of self-help, business,
hobbies, and health available. This is where the InfoGoRound content is
perfect. Rather than try to compete with others who are converting this
content to pdf files for the desktop, the marketplace is wide open for
this content to be made available for the pocket size computers.

How can you convert a RTF file to be read on one of these devices?
First you need to decide which type of pocket size device you want to
aim for. The Pocket PCs come with Microsoft Reader, an excellent eBook
reader. This requires the .lit file format. The Palms can use several
readers, the eReader is excellent and they have their own eBook Studio
that creates their required format.

An excellent converter is the Text Converter from ABC Amber
Conversion software that will convert RTF to .lit, .pdf, html, and
several other files types, even one for the Blackberry. You can read
about it at http:///www.processtext.com/index.html

You will be doing a huge portion of our population a big favor if you convert your content for these pocket size computers.

Feedbase

Feedbase is a database of feeds that are
automatically validated through Feed Validator. At first glance, you
might think Feedbase is a paid listing database, but the top list is
the list of sponsors. The site doesn't charge for a regular listing.

The basic search tool is simple. Just enter the keywords and the
results instantly appear below the search box. Those wanting advanced
search features also search by language, feed type, enclosure feeds and select the order the results should appear.

To submit your feed to Feedbase,
simply enter your feed's URL and that's it. If the feed already exists,
Feedbase lets you view the details. If the feed is invalid, Feedbase
provides a link to Feed Validator where you can view the validation

myFeedz calls itself a social newspaper
because myFeedz helps people find what's important from the sea of
information out there and shows you what you need to read. myFeedz
learns what you like and serves feeds related to your interests. The
site isn't an online RSS reader even though news are tracked through
RSS feeds.

By learning what people like and what news are most linked or
referenced, myFeedz improves its ability to personalize the service for
all users. The site determines an article's importance by looking at
the article's source, tags, popularity, rating, language and more. Your
profile, which includes tags, feeds and reading history is also taken
into account to determine how important that article is for you.

The FAQ explains feeds, tags, tag clouds and other common questions regarding feeds. The feeds page lists the top 100 feeds in myFeedz based on the number of subscribers. The tags page also gives the user a visual overview of the more popular tags.

To submit your feed to myFeedz, register for free, enter tags or select categories. Once done, then go to Personalize Feeds and enter the address of multiple feeds. You can also upload your OPML
file with all your favorite feeds. After you add the feeds to your
profile, myFeedz extracts tags and use them to improve your profile's
personalization.

When you submit your own feeds and favorite feeds, you can view the
list in My Feeds and sort them in various ways. My Groups and My
Feedage work similarly. You can also find new feeds by browsing the
categories, using the search tool or relying on the Groups and FeedZones.

The Home page lists the featured feeds, most popular feeds and most
recently submitted feeds. The simple and clean interface makes it easy
for the user to find his or her way around the Web site.

To submit your feed to Feedage, sign up free. Then go to Submit your feed

Spotplex provides real-time ranking of blog
articles based on actual impression count. The site doesn't list
articles people recommended or voted for, but rather lists articles
read the most in a given timeframe. Though focused on articles, the
site has blog standings showing the top blogs in a 24-hour period. Blog articles are grouped by categories and tags.

Bloggers copy and paste code from Spotplex into their blogs and can
track and analyze their blog traffic with the code's help. They learn
how many people visit the blog, which articles people read most and how
many people read them. Whenever an article of the blog is read, it will
show up at Spotplex in real-time and get noticed by Spotplex users.

Spotplex also has a customizable widget where you select the
features you want and then paste the code on a web site where the
widget displays popular articles, latest articles and new articles from

Blog Tagging. What's This New Game All About? by Lance Dwayne Ronald Brown

In addition to writing articles and participating in forums it seems
I have stumbled on to this fun new way of generating back links to your
site. I don't know who came up with this or who started this game but
it seems to me the possiblities are endless. I thought I should write
an article about it.
The game is called "blog tagging." Here is how you play the game:

You find 5 blogs of similar interest or content as yours and then post
a comment to them saying " you have been tagged " with a link back to
your site. Getting response shouldn't be hard as people like games if
there is something in it for them. At your site you have an explanation
something along these lines:

Blog Tagging. What's It All About?

Ok. Maria did this tagging thing with me. She doesn't know either who
started the game, but it's a fun and creative way to get links back to
your blog. If you get tagged, expect to write a post giving your
reasons for blogging, include a link back to the person who tagged you,
then tag 5 other bloggers. Personally I blog to get readers to my site
and to build friendships. I hope you respond to this tag game.

You'll notice above I mentioned the person who introduced me to the
game. Mentioning their name adds a nice personal touch. You must
hyperlink this person's blog in the text of your explanation. This is
easily done in the back office of your blog where you edit your posts.
When you write the post you will need to click on compose and then
highlight the words you want to hyperlink. In this case it is the name
Maria I highlight. Another box will come up where you put in their blog
link to their site. Presto! You have followed the rules and finished
your explanation of the game.

If you do the math on this you will have a least 25 links to your site
for every 5 people you tag. Imagine what would happen if you tagged 2
or 3 people a week for a year. That's right. Hundreds of back links to
your site which the search engines will pick up on where people will be
able to find your site.

It occurs to me one can change the topic of the game too. Instead of it
being why you blog it could be " lessons you have learned on the
internet " or " favorite hobbies " or " celebrities I don't like "
or...well you get my drift. Whatever gets people to respond to your
tag. You are limited only by your imagination here.

As anything else you will have to spend a little time checking out
other blogs and finding people with similar blog topics as yours. I
don't need to mention blog traffic exchanges but just in case you don't
know about them blogsoldiers is a good place to start. There are many
others though. Spend some time with Blogger or Wordpress reading other
blogs. It's all about community isn't it?

I did a little research on the internet to see if anyone had written an
article about this game. I couldn't find much. It may be absolutely new
and fresh. Or it may be I am behind the times and this has been around
for awhile. I do expect people will see the benefit of this game and
run with it. We'll probably start to see a rash of blog tagging topics.
You may want to start your own tag game now. You can use me and my blog
as the person who referred you if you want. Much appreciated if you do.
I think it is best to keep the game simple and easy to duplicate. Happy
blog tagging. I invite your comments and opinions on this topic.

Blogging 101- The Basics by Robert

Blogging 101 is mostly about the blogging vocabulary. To understand blogs, you need to know the terms blog, platform, domain, and web host. Once you have mastered these key elements of blogging, you can enter any conversation about blogging with confidence. After you know what exactly a blog is, you will be on your way to passing the final exam of blogging 101.
Blog is short for weblog, which simply means a series of online posts presented in reverse chronological order. That's all! Most blogs are text, but there are also photo blogs and video blogs. The rest of blogging 101 has to do with the technical side of things. If you are setting up a blog, you will need a platform, a web host, and a domain. A blogging platform is a computer software program that allows you to write posts and to update your blog.
Your platform is also what you use to design the look of your blog, from color scheme to font size. The web host is sort of like the virtual file cabinet where your blog is stored. Your computer communicates with the host when you upload or edit a post. The domain is the online address of your blog, and usually ends in 'dot com'. Now that you know what a blog is, what a platform is, and what domains and hosts are, congratulate yourself!
You have passed blogging 101- The Basics.

Is Someone Dumb-assed and Broke? by woz wridgley

Is someone Dumb-assed broke?..... If we try to look at the notion that 80% of Americans are poor-assed, 15%, of Americans are
middle class and the remaining 5% are filthy , filthy rich... The reason why 80% of the people
are, and always will be, broke is because there is 5% of the population that are hoarding way
too much money for their own direct needs, unless they are thinking that they are gonna live
for a few thousand years.... They are not, and if there is some way to shine some light on the
5% , then they could redistribute some funds in good ways to the masses, only real hurdle is
the word 'greed'and mental impairment caused by the spell of money.... I was thinking that the way to even the score real quick, would be to try to organize an
'INTERNATIONAL BANKRUPTCY DAY'... Now, just imagine that for a few freakkky seconds.... that would be a big blow to the capitalists... If every-one had the guts to file bankruptcy on
the same day it would be more fun than any government had ever dreampt of ..... You imagine how the fore-closures would force the price of housing down overnight... like what
is a $400,000 house now, would be worth maybe a couple of grand , if there was such a thing
left after the ambush... ambush now that is a pretty good term... u imagine, all the banks and
financial institutions, would be in such a spin , seeing that the american national debt
stands at 9trillion Dollars, and considering that china and india is looking to buy america,
and have enough funds to scare the living daylights out of the western governments and bankers
and the like.... The complete 'usery' system hangs by a very thin thread, it would not take much to change it
completely with a little bit of people power and the power of 'web 2.0', now the power of
web2.0 is a force to be reckoned with , when the drivers of of the web (dat is de ppl, by the
way) realize what their vehicle does, it will be the big bang all over again.... Geez i hope
i'm still on the planet to see that unfold .... What needs to be done is some blog freak to get the ball rolling and start the process of
re-distribution of wealth. Redistribution it is happening all over the planet as I write ,
look at the Poles, the Glaciers, The precipitation, it is a natural event that sweeps across
the planet easily once started... Like the tides of the ocean, like wild fire , like snowballs
..... The main reason that 80% of americans are broke is that they like living within the USERY
system that was invented by the 'Preists of BAAL'
